Our 36 acre solar farm goes live today. Some 21,600 solar panels will produce 5.1 Megawatts of electricity for the National Grid, equivalent to the demand of 1500 homes as well as reducing carbon dioxide emissions by around 5900 tonnes a year.
Our first asparagus is being picked today, nearly 3 weeks earlier than last year. We have 215 acres in production this season. Fingers crossed for some warm weather.
The new block of glass at the Holts is up and running. This is the first large scale commercial trial in the UK of growing tomatoes under lights using LED interlighting, and only the third in the world. This will allow us to supply quality British tomatoes all year round.
